The family of legendary artist Frank Frazetta is teaming with independent entertainment company Incendium to present a new era in the legendary painter’s primal psychological panorama: Frank Frazetta’s Death Dealer #1 is coming to stores on May 4. The first comic from Incendium’s publishing house to be available on the direct market, Death Dealer will see the famous black knight ride out once again to contend with monsters, sorcery and most likely a fair amount of grisly death! Frazetta’s Death Dealer first appeared in 1973 as one of many raw, viscerally dreamlike images and characters conjured by the inimitable artist. Rising to fame on the cover of the Southern rock band Molly Hatchet's 1978 self-titled album, Death Dealer’s image would go on to pervade the culture of America as a black nightmare behind every child’s closet door, with its influence rising to produce two comic books series in 1995 by Verotik (with art by Simon Bisley) and in 2007 by Image. A silent, crimson-eyed figure carrying a scythe-like axe astride a black steed, Death Dealer's new series will feature Mitch Iverson (Voltron: Legendary Defender) on writing duties, along with illustrator Stefano Martino (Stranger Things) and colorist Luis Antonio Delgado (TMNT: The Last Ronin) on art duties.
