Raspberry Pi's Coolest Projects Global 2022 online showcase returns this year to uncover some of the world's brightest young creators.
Free and open to makers up to 18 years old, Coolest Projects Global invites folks of any skill level to flaunt their talent in one of six categories: Scratch, games, web, mobile apps, hardware, advanced programming.
Register between Feb. 14 and May 11 as a solo artist or in a team of up to five. Once developed, upload a short video (max two minutes) about your project, why you chose it, what you found difficult, and what you would do differently with more time. Any projects pitched this year that were submitted in the past must have "significant changes" to the previous iteration.
And don't worry if your endeavor isn't complete. The focus, according to the Raspberry Pi Foundation, is on creativity, participation, and "most of all," fun. Participants can tune in on June 7 for a celebratory livestream and the announcement of the judges' favorite projects—chosen based on "coolness," complexity, design, usability, and presentation.
"Coolest Projects is celebrating its 10th year of shining a light on young creators, so we have an extra special showcase lined up in 2022," the Raspberry Pi blog announcement said. That includes judges' feedback, limited-edition digital and physical swag, and special commemorative medals.
Last year's creators came up with everything from an earthquake early warning device and math game made with Scratch to a squirrel detection system and a cybersecurity website. Find your own inspiration from previous projects, and sign up to receive email updates about Coolest Projects.
