Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 reveals October release date in first trailer
A teaser trailer for the new Call Of Duty reveals its release date but the storyline remains a mystery, despite the presence of Task Force 141.
Surprise, low-key announcements are becoming increasingly commonplace in the games industry at the moment, with Activision suddenly releasing the first teaser trailer for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and announcing its release date as October 28.
The teaser doesn’t show any in-game footage or in fact say anything about the game at all. It just shows off some character artwork and the box cover, while gravely-voiced voiceover artists talk in vague military jargon.
The rumour is though, that while Modern Warfare 2 is ostensibly a reboot of the identically named 2009 title, its story no longer involves a Russian invasion of the US and is instead concerned with South American drug cartels.
The idea that the new Modern Warfare 2 is influenced by the 1994 film Clear and Present Danger has been around for a long time but there’s never been any proof to back it up, other than Call Of Duty info always leaks out ahead of time.

That doesn’t rule out the cartel rumours but Task Force 141 being at the centre of the story is also how it was in the original Modern Warfare 2, so maybe the plots are more similar than previously supposed.
Other recent leaks suggest that Modern Warfare 2 will have a new mode called DMZ, similar to Escape From Tarkov. Again, that’s not confirmed but hopefully it will fare
