A recent post surfacing online implies that Activision may have suffered a data breach in December 2022, resulting in possible Call of Duty 2023 plans to go public inadvertently. Currently, many fans have expressed concerns over some of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2's ongoing issues while hoping for better changes in 2023. But the alleged leaks will unlikely do any favors for the franchise, particularly considering the upcoming seasonal updates.
Although Modern Warfare 2 is currently in its second season, Activision has yet to reveal its full plans with the franchise in the coming months. While fans have come to expect annual releases with the popular shooter, the company was supposedly not going to ship an annual release this year. However, recent reports claim that a full Call of Duty 2023 release is reportedly coming. Now, an alleged data breach from a couple of months ago suggests that Activision may have more in the pipeline.

As per @vx-underground, a platform that collects malware source codes and leaked documents, Activision suffered a data breach on December 4, 2022. The attackers had allegedly compromised a high-ranking employee's account to gain access to sensitive documents, including Call of Duty content plans dating to November 17, 2023. Accordingly, the franchise's upcoming seasons will reportedly kick off with Season 3 taking place between March 18 and May 15, followed by Season 4 from May 15 to July 16, Season 5 from July 16 to September 15, and Season 6 from September 15 to November 8.
