Bungie says it has ‘irrefutable evidence’ identifying a Destiny leaker
Bungie has claimed it has “irrefutable evidence” identifying the leaker of confidential information regarding upcoming Destiny content.
In a tweet, the company said it had “reviewed irrefutable evidence, including video recordings, verified messages, and images demonstrating a pattern over time that confirm the same individual shared confidential information from Community Summits spanning multiple years.”
In a follow-up, Bungie said it was “very disappointed to have learned this information and wish that things had gone differently with this person. We do not take these actions lightly, and we are confident in our decision.”
It added: “This is our final communication on the matter.”
The leak in question reportedly originated from Bungie’s frequent creator summits, during which it invites top players and members of the media to preview some of the upcoming features and content coming to the game.

It’s believed that Destiny streamer Ekuegan had shared confidential information in a Discord channel, which then came to the attention of Bungie. While Bungie did not name said streamer, in an interview with Forbes, Ekuegan said Bungie believed it to be him, despite his claims that he is innocent.
Images purporting to show Ekuegan’s desktop as the source of these leaks are what has led Bungie to its conclusion, but the company is being understandably coy about the situation.
