Chinese developer Game Science chose The Game Awards 2023 to present the release date of its upcoming action RPG Black Myth: Wukong.
Originally announced in August 2020, the Unreal Engine 5 powered game was first scheduled to launch in 2023 before getting delayed to 2024. Now, the developers have confirmed Black Myth: Wukong will ship on August 20, 2024 for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
The game is loosely inspired by the classic Chinese fantasy novel Journey to the West. Players shall set out as the Destined One to venture into the challenges and marvels ahead to uncover the obscured truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past.
They can master various staff techniques but also freely combine different spells, abilities, weapons, and equipment to find the winning strategy that best suits their combat style.
Over the course of their journey, they'll uncover the stories behind a variety of characters, delving beyond their battles with them, to taste the love and hate, greed and fury they once had and still carry with them.
Black Myth: Wukong will support ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS (including both Super Resolution and Frame Generation) on PC. Game Science still hasn't shared the official PC system requirements. Stay tuned on Wccftech to keep apprised on those and more details as we get closer to the launch date.
