Is Lalo still alive in Breaking Bad and the «Gene» timeline? The Better Call Saul season 6 trailer certainly opens that door. The grinning face of Tony Dalton rolling down his car window will forever remain etched into the minds of Better Call Saul fans, but the villain's status during Breaking Bad remains an chin-stroking mystery. Jimmy McGill famously asked Walt and Jesse, "did Lalo send you?" and therein suggested the character was still kicking as of Breaking Bad season 2 (or at least revealed that Jimmy wasn't informed to the contrary). Gus Fring, however, boldly claimed all of the Salamanca gangsters were dead.
That leaves a big, mustachioed question mark over how Lalo's story will end in Better Call Saul season 6. Does Gus finally kill his nemesis after season 5's botched assassination? Do Jimmy and Kim get Lalo imprisoned for the murder of Fred Whalen? Does Lalo survive, but skips town to avoid the heat? Or does he stay hidden, pulling strings from the shadows? The Better Call Saul season 6 trailer introduces a crucial new detail that might just provide the key to unlocking the enigma that is Lalo Salamanca.
