How Better Call Saul Foreshadows Jimmy's Fate
The official trailer for BetterCall Saul season 6 shows Jimmy throwing away his "World's 2nd Best Lawyer" travel mug, potentially foreshadowing his fate. The mug was a gift from Kim (Rhea Seehorn), and for five seasons she was a model lawyer for Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk), keeping him on the relatively straight and narrow path when it counts, but now it would seem both characters are embracing the dark side. The Better Call Saul season 6 trailer shows Jimmy's mug damaged from a gunshot and abandoned in the trash—and this scene has great meaning behind it.
Better Call Saul season 5 saw Jimmy juggle increasingly difficult relationships and illegal deals. His tense encounters with Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) and Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) set the table for his ties with the drug cartels in Breaking Bad, and his work with Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). Ever since saying "S'all good, man" in the Better Call Saul season 4 finale, fans have been waiting for Jimmy's Saul Goodman persona to fully emerge. The season 5 finale, however, showed Kim outdoing Jimmy's criminal lifestyle by talking down the psychopathic Lalo, impulsively quitting her job, and suggesting that the two frame Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian).

When Kim gives Jimmy the travel mug as a present, she jokingly adds «2nd» to the mug's message, so as to tell Jimmy she's still the better lawyer between the two of them.
