As Better Call Saul approachesits final season, star Bob Odenkirk hints that the character's end will not be of the «ride off into the sunset» variety. The critically acclaimed Breaking Bad prequel has spent six seasons establishing Jimmy McGill's character before he took on the buffoonish Saul Goodman persona. The previous five seasons have chronicled how the once-underdog lawyer has been transformed — thanks to his own pride and the world's disbelief in his abilities — into a vortex of bad decisions and sleazeball charisma, taking everyone in his path down along with him.
A lot could happen in season 6. A recent trailer promises a major showdown between Howard Hamlin and Jimmy after he and Kim Wexler planned to tank Hamlin's career in court. The two recently-wed lovebirds have been on a downward spiral after Jimmy became embroiled with the cartel, acting as legal counsel for the tempestuous Lalo Salamanca. His hiding of this fact led Kim to all but implode her life, quitting her job and joining Jimmy in the con game. Lalo will now certainly be on the warpath after a botched hit on his life from his rival Gus Fring. Season 6 could also herald a true melding into the Breaking Bad timeline and introduce Walter White.
