Blizzard has made a visual change to two of Overwatch hero Zarya’s skins, removing the “Z” she sports on her outfits due to its connection with the ongoing Russain invasion of Ukraine. This is one of many actions taken by the game industry in response to the Ukraine invasion; while many companies have had to delay upcoming titles due to complications caused by the conflict, many more have openly expressed support for Ukraine and raised money for the cause. This includes major companies like Epic Games, PlayStation, and even Activision itself.
Zarya, whose full name is Aleksandra Zaryanova, is a Russian hero from Blizzard’s multiplayer FPS game. Her relatively low health stats make her one of the less popular tank characters in Overwatch, though her heavy damage output puts her in a good secondary tank position. Of course, these statistics may change when the game's upcoming sequel releases; Overwatch 2 has already announced reworks for heroes such as Bastion, Doomfist, and Sombra, among others.
