The stars of Disney's Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers crash the red carpet premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in a funny new photo. Chip and Dale have been part of Disney's character catalog since 1943, finally getting their own show, Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, in 1989. The series followed the Rescue Rangers detective agency, headed by the titular chipmunks, with help from their trusted team, including Gadget Hackwrench, Monterey Jack, and Zipper. While the series ended its run in 1990, Chip and Dale are set to star in their own movie due to hit Disney+ later this month.
The new film, also called Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, acts as a meta continuation of the animated series, picking up with the chipmunks coexisting amongst people and other cartoon characters in the real world, much like Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Directed by The Lonely Island's Akiva Schaffer, the movie sees Chip (John Mulaney) working as an insurance salesman, with his days on the show long in the past, while Dale (Andy Samberg) is still attending conventions and interacting with fans. The two must join forces again to help find missing cartoon characters. With the release of Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers on the horizon, the characters popped up at the premiere of Marvel's next film, Doctor Strange 2.
