The untold story of Gwen Stacy is finally going to be told in a new Giant-Size format. Marvel has announced that the Gwen Stacy miniseries initially released in 2020 is coming back in an oversized release that will collect the entire run, including never-before-seen issues.
As one of Peter Parker's first and most notable love interests, Gwen has played a vital role in the history of Spider-Man. Though their relationship was strong, Gwen lost her life after the Green Goblin kidnapped her and threw her from a bridge, something Peter has never forgiven himself for. While Gwen has been dead in the main universe for decades, she's remained an important part of Spider-Man lore, with her and Peter's past always being revisited. Gwen has even experienced a second wind of sorts during the last several years in the form of her alternate universe counterpart, Spider-Gwen, a variant that has her own spider-based powers. This would later expand to other Gwen Stacy variants, such as ThorGwen.

Just because Spider-Gwen is a fan-favorite doesn't mean there isn't more to be told in the life of Earth-616's Gwen Stacy. Christos Gage and Todd Nauck attempted to do so in their Gwen Stacy miniseries, but it was unfortunately pulled amid the initial wave of COVID-19 in the United States. However, Marvel isn't letting a missing chapter of Gwen's life go untold and revealed that the comic would return as Giant-Size Gwen Stacy #1, a one-shot that will reprint the first two chapters as well as include Gwen Stacy's final three issues. Marvel also provided a look at the collection's covers which includes the standard version by Olivier Vatine and a variant from Peach Momoko.
