Blizzard Entertainment's popular free-to-play online card game Hearthstone is selling a card for $25, upsetting many players. The game was originally based on the existing lore of Blizzard's massively popular Warcraft series. Since the game's debut in 2014, Blizzard has kept the game relevant throughout the years by introducing features like new card sets and new game modes. One of the newer features introduced is the inclusion of the Diamond card skin.
Introduced in Hearthstone's Forged in the Barren expansion, Diamond card skins are purely cosmetic and offer no value in terms of gameplay. Unlike both the regular cards and the golden animated cards, Diamond cards are not obtained through luck. Previously, players could obtain Diamond card skins in Hearthstone by either buying an expansion that features them or first collecting every legendary card in a set. For some players, the new 3D card animations and unique borders of the Diamond skins are a must-have. However, other players do not feel the same way. This division has become even more obvious with the release of a new Diamond card skin with a $25 price tag.
