Most of us remember Bella Ramsey as Lyanna Mormont, that badass little girl from Game of Thrones. Her brief appearances were probably among the best parts of the last few seasons of the show. So, when she was cast as Ellie, alongside Pedro Pascal's Joel for The Last of Us TV show, we couldn't help but feel optimistic.
Live adaptations of video games hardly tend to do well, but considering animated shows like Arcane and Castlevania seem to have mastered the art, there's no reason it should be impossible to do so for a live adaptation. Ramsey is of the opinion that those who loved the games will be happy with HBO's version.
“I think people are going to love [the adaptation]. I know there were people worried about it, of course. When something is so precious to you as a viewer — as a gamer — of course you’re going to be worried about the adaptation," she said in a conversation with SheKnows.

“But honestly, I think people are going to love it. It very much follows the emotional beats of the game, and it’s very respectful of the game and honors the game," she continued. "But [the live-action series adaptation] brings a new life into it. It explores different avenues that weren’t explored so much in the game. I do think people are going to love it. I hope they do. It was so much fun to make, such an experience. I hope that [audiences] feel that experience too when they come on the adventure with us.”
Ramsey is currently working on Becoming Elizabeth, where she plays Lady Jane Grey in a show about the Tudor Court.
We'll soon be getting a next-gen remake of The Last of Us Part 1, however, despite being a remake, Naughty Dog will only be improving upon the visuals
