Before the Apple AirPods Pro 2 could launch in India, Google may take another chance of luring users to the world of Android with a beefed up version of its Pixel Buds earbuds. Google last launched the Pixel Buds A across several markets in 2021 as its most affordable set of TWS earbuds. Now, Google is rumoured to work on a new set of TWS earbuds that will cater to the higher-end of the market, possibly taking on the AirPods Pro or Sony’s highest-ends TWS earbuds.
Popular tipster Jon Prosser says that Google is working on Pixel Buds Pro, as Google could call it when it launches later this year. Prosser reveals the colour variants of the earbuds as well, which are called Real Red, Carbon, Limoncello, and Fog. On top of that, Mishaal Rahman, who has been good with Android related leaks, suggests more features that Google could be planning for these earbuds. Have a look.
“This would absolutely not surprise me given Google's work on spatial audio + head tracking support in Android 13, especially their secrecy around the latter. Plus, there's BLE Audio support in Android now too,” says Rahman.
Hence, if Android 13 is bringing these features, it is safe to say that Google could be baking these into its Pixel Buds Pro. The Pixel Buds and Pixel Buds A are already among the smartest earbuds we have seen in the market, as most other manufacturers focus solely on the audio quality.
The AirPods Pro 2nd Gen are themselves expected to bring massive upgrades over the outgoing model. Other than improved audio quality, the AirPods Pro are also said to lose the stem and even bring in some health tracking features from the Apple Watch.
