Kevin Conroy is thanking fans for the overwhelmingly positive and supportive response to his recent DC Pride story, where the legendary Batman: The Animated Series voice actor told a poignant tale his life as a gay man. On his Twitter account, Conroy shared a heartwarming message to readers, fans, DC Comics, and the creative team behind «Finding Batman» for helping him tell his important story.
Batman: The Animated Series is often considered the gold standard for Western animation, as the critically acclaimed '90s series is among the greatest superhero properties of all time. Part of the reason for its success is Kevin Conroy, who lent his voice to Batman for the first time in the show, as his instantly recognizable take on Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight is the ultimate take on the character. Conroy still voices Batman nearly 30 years later and recently joined DC Pride's 2022 anthology to tell his own story about how the hero helped him find his own voice.

In this week's DC Pride 2022 #1 anthology, Kevin Conroy wrote a touching story called «Finding Batman» alongside artist J. Bone and letterer Aditya Bidikar, where the voice actor shared his journey of self-discovery, from a troubled childhood, to losing friends in the '80s HIV/Aids epidemic, to keeping his life as a gay man largely under warps as he navigated through the at-times homophobic entertainment industry. In the comic, which comes highly recommended, Conroy wrote about how he related to Batman and how the role changed his life. On Twitter, the legendary voice actor shared his thanks for the response to the issue.
