To the disappointment of many fans, Larian Studios has announced that it won't be making despite winning 2023's Game of the Year award with the third entry in the series. Still, that doesn't mean the Belgium-based studio is sitting on its hands and indulging in the success of its biggest game to date. Instead, it is hard at work on a pair of new projects and has opened a studio in Warsaw, Poland, to facilitate this, promising games that will eclipse even, which is quite the claim.
Larian now has studios in Barcelona, Dublin, Gent, Guildford, Kuala Lumpur, Quebec, and Warsaw.
Swen Vincke has stated on X (formerly Twitter) that he already has the first act of a new game figured out, but the studio hasn't stated what the new project will be other than that it will be based on Larian's own IPs. It should be noted that was never a Larian IP and that it was given the series by Wizards of the Coast to make a long-awaited sequel. With the studio deciding to work on its own IPs, it will have more freedom, and the series is the perfect franchise to add to.

Those who have only played can be forgiven for knowing very little about Larian's series. This is the series that put the studio on the map, and it could be argued that the success of is what earned them the honor to make in the first place since the games share many similar systems. The series, in particular, shows Larian's dedication to the CRPG genre, and it reasons that it will continue in this vein.
