Raphael is a pain in the ass in Baldur's Gate 3, and one that wastes no time in introducing himself. You first meet him fairly early on in Act 1, when he whisks you away to the House of Hope to taunt you, saying you'll need his help to get rid of the illithid parasites. Given that he only gets worse from here on out, it's understandable that many players would love to bump him off then and there.
Well, one player has found a way to do exactly that. Courtesy of TikTokker Prizzaa, we have this quick tutorial on an easy way to take Raphael down at a lower level. All you need is time, a lot of patience... and a dead Gale. Yes, seriously.
You see, Gale's corpse has the unique effect of letting out a necrotic aura to anyone nearby. So, if you're carrying the wizard's dead body in your pack, you'll take constant necrotic damage. The same will go for Raphael, so just reverse pickpocket Gale's rotting flesh into his inventory, and let your former spellcaster do the rest.
The results here are a little funky. So, as we can see in the video, Raphael is defeated, kinda. He disappears and the party gains XP, which is always nice. However, since Raphael can only be killed for good if he's defeated in the Hells, he'll still come back later. It's good of him to let the attempt on his life slide, though, and still offer to help you out. The guy isn't too unreasonable.
Gale has a rough enough time in Act 1 as it is. If you're playing as The Dark Urge, you get the option to hack his hand off when he asks for your help. He dies, but it stops his orb from blowing up. Yay?
This isn't the first time a Baldur's Gate 3 fan has found a way to get some use out of a necrotic corpse. There's a dead body in Cazador's mansion that also has this status
