Larian Studios is set to release Patch 5 for Baldur’s Gate 3 later this week, addressing slowdown issues caused by an unintended consequence of Patch 4.
This particular fix targets a location in Act 2, where guards weren't immediately summoned when stealing, resulting in unnoticed thefts and acts of violence piling up in the game's memory. This caused increasing slowdowns as the game’s dungeon master struggled to process the accumulating offenses. The upcoming patch resolves this issue, allowing the game to operate smoothly even for players with the stickiest of fingers.

That, and so much more, is cooking for this week. https://t.co/KCtDb8MbQPPatch 5 will address another major issue that’s been annoying fans: Astarion’s kisses. Everyone’s favorite vampire has been less affectionate to Tav’s who have romanced him since the release of patch 4.
Larian says Patch 5 is “a lot” but we’ll know more later this week when the notes drop.
