Up for a new Baldur's Gate 3 challenge? If a leaked achievement proves accurate, an upcoming Honour Mode could be just the challenge you're looking for, if so.
The leaked achievement, spotted byRedditor Scornz (via Rock Paper Shotgun) points to a new «Honour Mode,» which if it's anything like the mode with the same name in Larian's previous RPG, Divinity: Original Sin II, it's a new difficulty mode that could see permadeath take root in Faerun.

Scornz noticed the achievement pop-up on GOG, CD Projekt Red's PC storefront, as the user previously had 100% of the achievements in Baldur's Gate 3, and now they didn't.
The new achievement spotted by Scornz is called «Foehammer,» and it's details point to the new difficulty mode that Larian could be working into their RPG. The legendary achievement is earned only after completing Baldur's Gate 3 on «Honour Mode,» which currently does not exist in their latest title. Currently, three difficulties exist: Explorer, Balance and Tactician, with the last being the most difficult. However, if the purported Honour Mode is anything like Divinity's, ths would be harder.
In D:OS 2, Honour Mode restricted you to a single save file, which means no save scumming. And if the party wipes, the save file is wiped with it. Permadeath in every respect.
Larian has yet to address the leak, but if this plays out, it could inject some more life and challenge into every decision you make in the RPG — which is saying something for a game where, as we detailed in our 10/10 review, every decision feels like it matters utterly.
