Baldur’s Gate 3 made a surprise appearance at Sony’s State of Play stream, confirming a console launch, split-screen co-op, and more. Players can dive into Baldur’s Gate 3 on Mac, PC, or PS5 once it releases on August 31.
Larian Studios’ new RPG got an incredible new story trailer featuring General Ketheric Thorm, a nigh-invincible necromancer leading an army of the dead. Voiced by J. K. Simmons, this villain is one of the three main antagonists players will face alongside their companions in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Luckily, players will be able to confront these villains on multiple platforms. Baldur’s Gate 3 announced it would be coming to Mac, PC, and PS5 with full controller support. What’s more, Baldur’s Gate 3 will also have split-screen co-op, allowing two players to play on the same device. The game will also support full cross-progression between all platforms, including Steam Deck.
The Digital Deluxe Edition for Baldur’s Gate 3 was also just announced. Players who purchase the upgrade will get a digital OST, artbook, and Dungeons and Dragons character sheets for the origin characters of Baldur’s Gate 3. In game, they will receive Bard songs, paintings, and special artifacts inspired by the music, world, and characters of Divinity: Original Sin 2. What’s more, players who already purchased Baldur’s Gate 3 in Early Access get a free upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition.
These new digital goodies are also unlocked for any players who order the Collector’s Edition for Baldur’s Gate 3. Though it costs a steep $270, this treasure trove contains tons of physical collectible items including a cloth map, an art book, and an amazing statue of a mind flayer and drow
