A whole lot of people are playing Baldur's Gate 3.

Steam statistics show that more than a quarter of playtime was spent on Baldur's Gate 3 this past weekend, overtaking CS: GO. According to Circana's Player Engagement Tracker, via analyst Mat Piscatella on Twitter, users spending time with Baldur's Gate 3 on August 6 accounted for 27.5% of total playtime on the platform in the US, «leading all other titles by far» including CS: GO, which sat at 5% on Sunday.

Another chart shows that the daily percentage of time for the game took off on launch day--August 3--and has remained at the previously mentioned steady playtime for almost a week. Piscatella explains in the Twitter thread that the engagement tracker is for the US only, and the results are looking only at the percentage of time played «which would include idling» in the game.
