Zuko and Iroh are united in a new behind the scenes picture for Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender, which finds Dallas Liu and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee hanging together after a long week's work. After years of little progress, Netflix's live-action Avatar is charging full steam ahead. The series first went into development in 2018. The next few years brought little to no progress, save for the exit of the show's original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. That occurred in 2020, and seemed to many like a bad sign for Avatar's prospects.

In its original animated form, Avatar revolves around the adventures of 12-year-old Aang, a bright-eyed boy who stands as his world's only hope for peace. Newcomer Gordon Cormier will play Aang for Netflix's Avatar, which is said to be a reimagining of the beloved Nickelodeon show. From the cast list alone, it's clear the live-action series will make some adjustments to the overall story.
