Atomic Heart launched this week to mixed reviews, but if you've been playing and loving it, you may not have noticed this hidden piece of foreshadowing in the robot ballerina twins' hair. That's right, their hair is a clue to a major reveal late on in the story.

Late in the game, it's revealed that protagonist P-3 and his wife were both secret agents who got fatally wounded on a mission. P-3 was saved by Sechenov and his body underwent heavy surgery including being mostly replaced with prosthetics, but his wife died. It is then revealed that a copy of her personality has been uploaded to the robot twins that serve as Sechenov's bodyguards.

"What's all this got to do with their hair?" Well, their hairstyle is known as a Russian braid. Wearing two braids tied around the head meant a woman was married. This is a clever bit of foreshadowing that the twins are married, and functions as a clue that they're actually P-3's dead wife, who is mentioned several times throughout the story.
While their hair may initially lead people to believe the ballerinas are married to Sechenov - the game confirms he's a robosexual, and it's heavily implied they're his sex slaves as well as his bodyguards - the cover for Atomic Heart shows one of the ballerinas standing right behind P-3, so the breadcrumbs have been there for a while.
