Nintendo and the Pokemon Company have officially announced two upcoming expansions for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, last year's entry in the mainline series. The Hidden treasure of Area Zero will be released in two parts, with Part 1: The Teal Mask arriving in Fall 2023. Part 2: The Indigo Disk is scheduled for Winter 2023, and both DLC adventures will expand beyond the borders of the Paldea region.
Part 1's story will take place in the land of Kitakami as players embark on a field trip, visiting a land of tranquil natural expanses, local legends, and a colorful festival where new Pokemon can be encountered. Part 2's story unfolds in Blueberry Academy, as players explore the institution as part of an exchange program. Each part will have new Pokemon to capture from previous generations, including Ninetails, Vikavolt, and Chimecho in Part 1, and Metagross, Dewgong, and Espurr in Part 2.
