AT&T is offering a new prepaid plan with 5G for just $45 per month, the only catch being you have to purchase it through Walmart with in-store activation.
As The Verge reports, the temptation to visit your local Walmart to grab this deal will be high simply because AT&T's cheapest unlimited 5G plan until now was $65 per month (AT&T Unlimited Starter Plan). However, the Walmart-exclusive AT&T Unlimited Max prepaid plan offers more features than the Starter Plan even though it's $20 cheaper.
In return for your $45, AT&T is offering unlimited high-speed data, unlimited talk and text, 10GB of data when using your phone as a mobile hotspot, 100GB of cloud storage, and HD streaming. The prepaid plan does state that your data speeds can be temporarily slowed down if the network is busy, but that only happens after you've consumed 22GB of data.
The Unlimited Max plan usually costs $50 per month, but it's currently discounted by $5. There's a range of phones also carrying big discounts alongside this plan, including the Moto G Pure for $19, Samsung Galaxy A03s for $29, Galaxy A12 for $69, iPhone SE for $149, and iPhone 11 for $299. For 5G phones, there's the AT&T Radiant Max 5G for $149, the Motorola one 5G ace for $199, and the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G also for $199.
