Ubisoft today formally announced the release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage alongside the first gameplay trailer.
The Assassin’s Creed dry spell ends October 12 when the next entry in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, finally launches. The game launches in time for the franchise’s fifteenth anniversary and serves as a callback to the older titles.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes players to the Golden Age Baghdad and puts them in the shoes of Basim. The gameplay trailer focuses on several new and returning franchise features. New features include the Assassin’s Focus, which allow Basim to mark and assassinate a series of targets. Older features like a heavier focus on parkour and stealth, and items like throwing knives and smoke bombs make their grand return. In addition, the very popular Blackbox missions are returning, giving players increased flexibility over how they approach assassination targets. Some returning parkour features include corner swing, vaulting over objectives, and ‘elevators’ that help Basim reach high ground faster.
The trailer also provides a first look at some of the game’s characters; Fuladh and Master Roshan. Fuladh is an Eagle-Master for the Hidden Ones and helps Basim with his missions. Meanwhile, Master Roshan guides Basim along his journey to becoming a Hidden One.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage launches October 12 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna.
