Gaming servers and services shutting down is a common thing that happens in the industry. When certain systems are no longer supported, companies will need to transition to the latest in order to keep up-to-date with the latest technology. Ubisoft is also shutting down online services for certain games, many of these being older titles that have been released on a number of older systems. This includes games from the company's flagship IP Assassin's Creed, which will shut down these services in September. One game that wasn't listed in the initial announcement but will also be affected is Assassin's Creed Liberation HD.
Originally released as Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, it was a spin-off that took place alongside the events of Assassin's Creed 3, where it followed the adventures of Aveline de Grandpre in her conflict against the Templars. This was originally released on the PS Vita in 2012 before getting a remake on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 as Assassin's Creed Liberation HD. This game would then get ported to current-gen systems when it was included as a part of Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered in 2019. It's no surprise that with Ubisoft shutting down services for certain older releases, this game would be affected too.

Fans have noticed that the Steam page for Assassin's Creed Liberation HD has been currently delisted, meaning that fans can't buy this old version anymore. However, there is a notice stating that this Assassin's Creed game will no longer be accessible around the same date that Ubisoft will be shutting down its online services. This ultimately means players who previously bought and currently own the game will no longer be able to play this old
