Just like the Nintendo Switch that it bears a strong resemblance to, the major draw of the Steam Deck is how it lets players take their libraries of PC games with them on the go — with even graphically intense titles like The Witcher 3 running without much difficulty and only a manageable drop in visual quality. This portability means that players might be tempted to take their Steam games outside during the bright summer months, but blistering high temperatures could increase the chance of their Steam Decks overheating and shutting down in the middle of a challenging gaming session — and Valve is making sure its customers stay informed about this possibility in the face of record-breaking weather.

The official Steam Deck Twitter account recently posted a message warning owners about their handhelds overheating in response to yesterday’s record high temperatures in Britain, as reported by Destructoid.
