While the long-awaited reveal of Grand Theft Auto VI is the big Rockstar story of the week, some select comments from Arthur Morgan actor Roger Clarke have given us hope for a return to the world of Red Dead Redemption.
All eyes were on the GTA VI reveal yesterday, including Clarke's, who mused about the success of GTA V and GTA Online on Twitter: «It just dawned on me that there's no reason whatsoever for GTA 5 online to slow down. Graphics still hold up; it's a completely different city. GTA 6 won't replace it; they'll be around for us all to enjoy. Rockstar is going to head further into the stratosphere.»
This inevitably prompted a question about the future of Red Dead Redemption and an inquiry about what direction a possible Red Dead Redemption 3 might go. Clarke responded: «I'm certain we will see RDR3 one day. When that will be — I have absolutely no idea. Don't count on Arthur's involvement, either. His story has been told, I feel.»
Red Dead Redemption 2 was a monstrous success. However, it's small potatoes relative to the success of GTA V. Insanely cinematic, we'd love to see a return to the series, although when is anybody's guess. Released in 2018, development on RDR2 began right after the first game's release, taking eight full years to come together, and we'd imagine Rockstar would want to get even more extensive and detailed in a potential sequel.
