In a special pre-launch group interview, World of Warcraft Game Producer George Velev and World of Warcraft Production Director Michael Bybee answered burning questions about World of Warcraft — including giving more information on Mists of Pandaria Remix and its future within the game.
MoP Remix was an ambitious event allowing players to re-experience an old expansion, made fresh with a twist. As with any new content, Remix had its share of learning moments, such as Ensembles being initially broken for almost all players, but overall Blizzard and the playerbase were both satisfied with a fun even spanning Season 4 of Dragonflight.
One popular complaint, however, was never fully addressed — players were clamoring for Weapon Arsenals to be added to MoP Remix to alleviate RNG acquisition. Remix ended with no Arsenal implementation, leaving many to feel that they missed out on exclusive appearances due to bad luck.
Blizzard addressed these concerns, specifically speaking on Arsenal implementation and the future of MoP Remix as a whole:
Oh, got it, weapon arsenals. The weapon arsenal thing was just the team, as they were implementing everything, chose not to do that because they thought it would be more interesting to do it this way — we may change that in the future.
To your broader question though, the initial intent with MoP Remix was that this is something like Timewalking that will come back on a regular basis, and we still intend that to be true. So I know a lot of players felt, «hey, I have to get everything this time. If I don't get it, I'm gonna miss out on it,» but we actually intend this to come back and you'll have an opportunity to get that stuff again. There's been a lot of feedback about certain pieces, especially weapons that showed up in the rewards that you could get in Mop
