Funky Fungi is one of the hidden levels in that can only be unlocked by finding asecret exit portal in another level. Once you have found it, though, it provides a real challenge with plenty more Bots and Puzzle Pieces to find. Due to it being a hidden level, it includes lots of new types of puzzles, making it tricky to find all of the collectibles.
Funky Fungi can be unlocked by playing the Creamy Canyon level in the first world, the Gorilla Nebula. As the initial level is so early in, players can unlock and play Funky Fungi in no time at all. The plant-based level introduces new elements not seen in the game's predecessor,, including the ability to dig down into the ground. After using the new spinning punch to lift yourself up into the air onto a higher platform, you will find the first Bot in plain sight on the left. However, it has an enemy hovering around for company. Jump up and spin attack the Bot to set it free. It is one of the many cameo bot appearances in, Richter Belmont from Castlevania.
The hidden level can be accessed by entering the Lost Galaxy from the main hub in
Puzzle Pieces play a key part in as you look to complete the final puzzles showcasing some of PlayStation's finest moments. The first Piece in Funky Fungi can be found after you have pulled up the dynamite shortly after rescuing the previous Bot. After using it first on the enemies directly in front of you, go back and pick it up again, but this time turn around and jump up the steps. You can throw it against the wall that is marked, blowing it up to reveal the Piece.
Serpent Starway has eight hidden levels in total, but all can be easily unlocked by crashing into asteroids and other items in Astro Bot.
