Ark Survival Ascended player proves how OP ghillie suit camouflage is

The ghillie suit is arguably the best armor in Ark Survival Ascended, especially if you are playing on a PvP server. While it might not be the strongest armor, its ability to camouflage successfully is remarkable.

DarthBrickus on Reddit posted an image of their character hiding in a patch of foliage in Ark Survival Ascended and I legitimately couldn’t find him. I looked for several minutes trying to find where the character was in the image. The only way I figured it out was through a Reddit comment that circled him. Hint: the character is somewhere in the middle.

In Ark Survival Evolved, the ghillie suit’s camouflaging ability left much to be desired. The visuals weren’t good enough to truly hide a player. But now, if you have a ghillie suit on and are in a grassy area, you basically disappear.

The ghillie suit will be extremely strong in PvP since it’s nearly impossible for other players to spot you. Unfortunately, dinos aren’t fooled by the ghillie suit. I tried to crawl past a carnivorous dino and it attacked immediately. After breaking sight, running away, and hiding in the grass, the dino charged directly at me, so the ghillie suit isn’t as effective in PvE.

If you want to try the ghillie suit for yourself, you can wait til you are level 33, collect enough Engrams to unlock the crafting recipes, and scavenge for the required resources to make the gear, or you can use console commands. Just like with the fly cheat code, all you need to do is press tilde, “~,” and type in “ghillie.” Use the arrows to select the type of ghillie armor you want and press enter. Do this six times and you’ll get the full ghillie suit in your inventory for free.
