As concludes on Netflix, co-creator Christian Linke shared an update on the next phase of the League of Legends universe. A series for Arcane, exploring key regions like Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia, is already in development. While details remain limited, Riot Games has confirmed that they are working on several projects, with more to come.
Riot Games has clarified that fewer Arcane spin-off shows are in development than initially expected.
In an interview on a Twitch stream with League of Legends creator Necrit94, co-creator Christian Linke revealed that shows focused on the Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia regions were planned as the next steps in expanding the Arcane cinematic universe. He stated, “Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia are getting shows and are [the] next steps into this cinematic universe… [The] next series is already in development for about a year.”
This led many fans to believe that three separate spin-offs were underway, but this was later clarified by Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill. On X (formerly Twitter), Merrill stated, “To clarify, he didn’t say 3 separate shows – said exploring 3 regions. We are exploring a bunch of different shows (and games).”
Despite the confusion, Merrill emphasized that multiple projects are in development, though only one is actively progressing. “A bunch” of projects are underway, but the spin-off focusing on Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia is the farthest along. This project has been in development for about a year, suggesting a potential release in late 2026 or early 2027, following a typical three-year production cycle similar to Arcane Season 2.
While the initial announcement sparked excitement for multiple spin-offs, fans can now expect a more gradual rollout of new content in the Arcane universe. Arcane Season 2, now streaming on Netflix, concludes the original series. Future expansions into the League of Legends world are still under development.
