Free-to-play battle royale has brought in more than $2 billion in revenue since its launch back in 2019.
That's according to the CFO of publisher Electronic Arts, Chris Suh, who revealed the figure during the company's investor call for the quarter ending March 31st, 2022, saying that net bookings were up 40 per cent year-on-year, as transcribed by Seeking Alpha.
"Apex Legends is up over 40% for the year, taking it past the $2 billion milestone in lifetime net bookings," he told shareholders.
"Season 12 finished yesterday, and was the most successful ever. And, of course, Apex Legends Mobile is performing well in tests and is close to launch."
That means that Apex Legends has made around $1 billion in the last 12 months alone; this time last year, previous EA CFO Blake Jorgensen revealed the game had made over $1 billion as of March 2021.
Apex Legends has attracted more than 100 million players, as of April 2021.
