As Anthony Mackie is getting ready for Captain America 4, the Marvel Cinematic Universe star reveals a fun detail about his character prep. Phase 4 has and is continuing to come with multiple changes to the MCU, following the thrilling conclusion of Marvel Studios' Infinity Saga. Some long-time heroes have departed while making room for new ones to come to life from the comics. However, it has also allowed for other established characters to step more into the spotlight as various Avengers have departed. One of them ended up being Sam Wilson, as Steve Rogers passed on the mantle—or in this case, shield—to Falcon, following the war against Thanos.
When Marvel Studios began producing original series on Disney+, Sam was one of the veteran MCU heroes to headline his own show, alongside Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier followed the duo as they saw the Captain America title fall into the wrong hands. This eventually led to Sam embracing Steve's final wish as he became the MCU's new and proper Captain America. It didn't take long until it was revealed that Mackie is set to star in Captain America 4, with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier writers Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson penning the script.
