Ms. Marvel creator Sana Amanat reveals how her character Kamala Khan compares to other MCU heroes like Captain America. Steve Rogers had been one of the backbones of the MCU since Chris Evans first played the character in Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011. Captain America had appeared in all of the big team-up movies before he retired after returning the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame. Steve is said to still be alive, but Marvel's plans for the character are unknown.
On the other hand, Kamala Khan is a brand new MCU hero set to make her debut in June. Ms. Marvel is the next MCU TV show on Disney+ following the conclusion of Moon Knight, which still has four episodes to air. Iman Vellani will lead the series as Kamala Khan, a Pakistani American who is enamored with the Avengers and dreams of one day getting superpowers of her own. While the comics allowed Kamala to change her molecular structure to alter her physical appearance, the MCU show will give her powers through some sort of alien bracelet that allows her to manipulate energy.

Now, the creator of Ms. Marvel is breaking down how Kamala Khan is different from the MCU's other popular characters, claiming she "isn't your traditional Avenger." Amanat revealed to Empire that Vellani is just as big a superhero fan as Kamala before saying that Ms. Marvel isn't as «slick and suave» as other heroes.
