One fan has discovered that using the Blathers amiibo in the game brings both the learned owl to The Roost, as well as a special surprise. Using an amiibo card of a villager invites that villager to come live in the player's town. When the amiibo of a special character is used instead, that character can be invited for a coffee and a chat at the game's cafe, The Roost.
To the surprise of Reddit user UrCutexAngel, when they used the Blathers amiibo and invited the museum's curator for coffee, he arrived at The Roost with Celeste. The little pink owl is Blathers' younger sister, and her appearance at the cafe is a wonderful surprise for fans of the franchise.
Other fans have chimed in, expressing how adorable this is in the comments, and sharing some other information about the cute owl siblings. According to Redditor Rigel04, for instance,Celeste's signature bow was apparently a gift bought for her by Blathers using the money from his first paycheck.
Reddit user North_Tough9236 chimes in that they would be "" if this happened to them. It's clear from fan responses that the owl siblings are beloved by the community, and Nintendo's addition of Celeste with the Blathers amiibo was a wonderfully wholesome Easter egg.
While Blathers is the museum curator at Celeste's appearance is a bit more sporadic. The little owl only shows up at night on players' islands, her sparkling blue eyes fixed permanently on the night sky with delight. Celeste only sometimes appears in at night, between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m., and only on clear nights when there's a chance for a meteor shower.
Special cards released only in Japan in the 2000s have become some of the most sought-after Animal Crossing merchandise, even more than amiibo cards.
Celeste has a more permanent role in previous titles, working alongside Blathers in the museum in and. In the first two games, Celeste runs the Observatory, which is located at the top of the museum, while in she's in charge of the museum shop and exhibit rooms.
