A lot of new content was added in Animal Crossing New Horizons 2.0, including new K.K. Slider songs to collect. K.K. Slider has been a staple in the Animal Crossing series for several entries. In New Horizons, villagers will be able to find him singing songs in their town square. With 98 songs to choose from in the base game, this new update has added an additional 12 tracks. However, the player will need to unlock them first.
They will first need to unlock K.K Slider in Animal Crossing New Horizons. The player must have a three-star island rating or higher to do this. This is a measurement of how likely other villagers would want to visit their island. To boost this, planting flowers and various items around the island will make it more attractive to villagers. The best possible rating a player can get for their island is five stars, but this can only be done after the credits have run. They will also need to build Nook's Cranny, place a campsite, craft a bridge, and make furniture for three new villagers. At any point, the player can speak with Isabelle in the Residents Services building to see what they can do to improve their island.

After unlocking K.K. Slider, players can now unlock their other tracks. The players must have an active internet connection to download the version 2.0 patch. With the 2.0 update downloaded, the 12 additional tracks can be acquired in two different ways. The first method is by purchasing them from the Resident Services building. The second method is by requesting them directly from K.K. Slider himself when he's on the island. Regardless, all 12 need to be unlocked so that they can be used in other locations on the island.
