Eliminated American Idol season 20 Top 20 contestant Cameron Whitcomb may have been voted off of the show, but he promised his fans that they have not seen the last of him. Cameron, who was 18-years-old when he auditioned, is from Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Cameron was a ball of energy from day one and his backflip became his signature move. During his audition, Cameron surprised the judges because his singing voice sounded very different from his speaking voice. Cameron told them that he had never had any vocal lessons and that he had never sung in front of anyone in public before. Lionel Richie thought that Cameron needed more time and said no for him to go to Hollywood, but fellow American Idol judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan thought that he had potential, so he earned a golden ticket.
During the Hollywood Week Showstopper round, Cameron's performance of «It Ain't Me Babe» by Bob Dylan earned him a place in the Top 24. However, he frustrated guest mentor Bebe Rexha when he did not listen to any of her advice about being calmer on stage during his frenetic performance of «Bad Moon Rising» by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Despite this, the American Idol audience voted him into the Top 20, during which he sang «Changes» by Black Sabbath. Cameron began the song more seriously, and the judges were happy to see him evolving. But, just as he seemed to be growing into his artistry, Cameron found himself in the danger zone, singing for the judges' save. Unfortunately, he did not make it into the Top 14, and Cameron's American Idol season 20 journey came to an end.
