American Idol's Nicolina revealed on social media that she made history twice with her Disney Night performance. The Idol season 20 powerhouse vocalist has been delivering stunning performances since her audition in Los Angeles. Nicolina, whose full name is Nicolina Bozzo, is an 18-year-old university student from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. During her audition, Nicolina's moving version of Sara Bareilles' «She Used To Be Mine» earned her a golden ticket to Hollywood, with yes votes from all three judges, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. They gave her a standing ovation and said that they had finally found what they were looking for.
Nicolina has continued to impress the American Idol audience and the judges with her stellar song choices, including «Elastic Heart» by Sia (Top 24), «Edge of Seventeen» by Stevie Nicks (Top 20), and «Hallelujah» by Jeff Buckley (Top 14). For her Top 11 performance, Nicolina sang «Since U Been Gone» by Kelly Clarkson, which Lionel chose for her during the Judges' Song Contest. This song showed a more playful, rock 'n roll side to Nicolina, proving her versatility as an artist. During her American Idol Top 10 Disney Night performance, she once again showed her creativity and willingness to take risks when she chose to sing «Poor Unfortunate Souls» from The Little Mermaid, the signature song of the villain, Ursula the Sea Witch.
