The Thaumaturge is an isometric narrative RPG set in Warsaw in 1905, and it has been announced for a PS5 release in Early 2024. It features turn-based combat and an intriguing supernatural setting, and we got a decent look at it in an official gameplay trailer.
Thaumaturges are people capable of taming Salutors, spirit-like beings which can be used to alter the temperament and affinities of other people and ultimately to deliver psychic damage when summoned in combat. This will be useful in helping or hindering the citizens of Warsaw, who struggle under the yoke of imperial Russian tsardom. It honestly sounds like a bizarre mix of Persona in concept and Vampyr in tone, with perhaps even a dash of Disco Elysium sprinkled in for good measure.

Khayl Adam is the second best video game journalist Australia has ever produced, and his ambitions of world domination have (thus far) been curbed by the twin siren songs of strategy games and CRPGs. He has always felt an affinity for the noble dachshund, the best kind of dog.
