Whether or not the upcoming Alone in the Dark reboot will be able to kickstart the sort of resurgence that other beloved survival horror franchises like Resident Evil and Dead Space have enjoyed remains to be seen, but things are certainly looking good so far. That is, of course, thanks in no small part to the emphasis that the upcoming reimagining is placing on pure horror. Pretty soon, we’ll be getting a taste of just what that will entail.
Developer Pieces Interactive and published THQ Nordic recently released a new teaser trailer for Alone in the Dark that refers to a mysterious entity known as the Dark Man, one of the many nightmares that you’ll be crossing paths with in the game. It seems like a completely new addition that wasn’t in the original game, so it should be interesting to see just what shape or form the Dark Man will take. Perhaps a persistant stalker-type enemy to compete against the likes of Mr. X?
Thankfully, we’ll be learning more about the Dark Man very soon, with THQ Nordic promising more details later today. Stay tuned for those updates.
Alone in the Dark launches on October 25 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game will feature two campaigns, with each being 6-10 hours long, and will also launch with a 60 FPS performance mode.
