Fans of the Diablo franchise know that most of the updates and seasons come free of charge since the base game costs a pretty penny. The developers at Blizzard Entertainment have released a survey for the players, and it has raised quite a few red flags for the fan base.
An alleged confidential survey was sent out by Blizzard, asking players whether or not they’d be alright with paying upwards of $100 for ‘add-ons’ within Diablo 4. While there are a few paid options in terms of cosmetic items, these are supposedly more within the realm of pay-to-win. YouTuber Bellular News released a video documenting and leaking this survey that was allegedly put out by the devs, and it has left a bad taste in the Diablo community’s mouth.
None of this has been confirmed by Blizzard at this time, but these paid ‘addons’ include things like more cosmetics, mounts, seasonal Platinum in-game currency, battle passes and companions. There are different pricing options to choose from, according to this leaked survey, ranging from $49.99 to $99.99. Each tier would come with various different rewards for those who choose to indulge in these purchases.
While most of the rewards are simply quality-of-life enhancements, such as stash tabs,some players are just not happy with this even being a possibility. According to one Reddit thread regarding this survey, some are even stating they will drop out of the game completely if it does turn into pay-to-win content.
