All nine vocation classes in have NPC Maisters you can meet in various locations and act as teachers for the ultimate abilities associated with each archetype. These masters of their craft can give you powerful scrolls to learn each technique, but only if you complete different tasks for them. The only way to master a vocation is with the assistance of Maisters you find in the world.
Only four vocations are available from the start of the game — the Fighter, Thief, Mage, and Archer. Keep in mind that you have to unlock Advanced Vocations like the Warrior and Mystic Spearhand in before you can get the ultimate abilities for each. Certain Maisters won't offer anything to do unless you have taken the steps to gain these archetypes from your other adventures.
