In stunning new Batman art from Alex Ross, the superstar artist pays tribute to the late Neal Adams. We can exclusively reveal a new giclee print and variant cover art inspired by Adams called Batman: Defender of Gotham, where Ross offers his own take on the iconic Batman artist's version of the Dark Knight. The San Diego Comic-Con 2022 print and cover art will exclusively be available at the event and on Ross' website.
Neal Adams was one of the most important and influential artists working in comics, as his work on Green Lantern/Green Arrow, Batman, and Uncanny X-Men are among the most beloved and acclaimed works in the medium's history. In addition, Adams and writer Dennis O'Neil were a big reason why Batman returned to his darker roots in the late 60s, as their interpretation of the character moved him away from the at-the-time campy version seen in the Batman TV series starring Adam West. In a new variant cover art and print, Alex Ross pays tribute to Adams, who died earlier this year, in a piece that shows off his classic take on Batman.

We can exclusively reveal never-before-seen Batman art from Alex Ross (Kingdom Come), which will be a San Diego Comic-Con 2022 exclusive. The Batman: Defenders of Gotham piece features the talented artists' interpretation of Neal Adams' Batman. The piece is inspired by the Dark Knight of Ross' youth. The art will appear on Batman #125 by DC Comics, with a giclee variant print limited to 100 available at the convention and on Ross' website.
