The wait won't be much longer to play Alan Wake 2 or even read reviews about the sequel. Developer Remedy has revealed that the review embargo for the survival-horror game lifts at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET on Thursday, October 26.
Thomas Puha, who serves as communications director at Remedy, posted on Twitter/X about when critiques would go live on Alan Wake 2. Puha also responded to someone who claimed the review embargo raises «a red flag» since it's so close to the sequel's October 27 launch date. «Eh… we have shown so much of this game. Press played [three] hours back in September. It's all good,» he replied.

Now Playing: Alan Wake 2 Everything To Know
On top of that, the Alan Wake 2 launch trailer will premiere at the Xbox Showcase coming this week on Wednesday, October 25. There is also an Alan Wake flashback that recaps the original game inside of Fortnite right now. That means Batman, Ariana Grande, and even John Wick can visit Bright Falls.
It's been 13 years since Alan Wake originally released. As such, GameSpot has a primer on what you need to know before Alan Wake 2, too. GameSpot also got to play the survival-horror sequel for preview, saying it «feels like a game from a team that has a much stronger grasp of its own identity and isn't shy about showing it off, and that's incredibly exciting.»
