Newfangled Games will unfold an innovative new experience on PS5 and PS4 from 21st May, when Paper Trail makes its home console debut. The unique puzzler sees you manipulating paper in order to navigate its watercolour world, so you may need to fold a page to create a new path for protagonist Paige to walk on, for example. The trailer gives you a better idea of what to expect.
The press release reads: “Paper Trail is a top-down puzzle adventure about leaving home, set in a foldable, paper world. You play as Paige, a budding academic, leaving home for the first time to pursue her studies. On the journey, you learn to fold the world, merging two sides to solve puzzles, explore new areas and uncover long-lost secrets.”
In addition to an imaginative new gameplay loop, the title also looks to have a pretty stirring story about bravery, running away, and realising your dreams. This one has already won a slew of awards, and while we imagine the gameplay will probably work best on a touchscreen, expect it to rack up some strong review scores when it debuts on PlayStation.
