A Lego set based on The Great Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda could be released later this year.
That’s according to Brickmerge and 1414falconfan, two Lego social media accounts that have a long history of revealing upcoming Lego sets long before they’ve been officially confirmed.
A work-in-progress image of The Great Deku tree Lego set from an internal documentwas posted online last year. This document, intended only for specific retail partners to judge their interest in potential upcoming sets, suggsted that the set would come with Link, Princess Zelda, and a large display stand for the tree.
According to Brickmerge, the set will come with 2,500 pieces and be released in September 2024. If the set is based on the concept that was previously shown, it will also likely be the first Lego Nintendo set to feature traditional minifigures.
Previous Lego Mario sets have used a bespoke electronic figure that reacts to special Lego pieces, while the upcoming Animal Crossing Lego sets will feature figures with bespoke sculpted heads.
If the leaks turn out to be true, The Great Deku Tree will be Lego’s first set based on The Legend of Zelda.
Lego has produced dozens of Mario-themed sets, and several larger Nintendo-themed sets such as the Lego Nintendo Entertainment System, and is set to release Animal Crossing Lego in the coming months, but so far the company has yet to release anything from Nintendo’s other large franchises.
