Nintendo and Oreo have partnered up for a limited run of Super Mario-themed biscuits, so you know what that means. Yup, scalpers are ruining it, seeing this kid-friendly brand promotion as an opportunity to make a quick buck. Or quite a few bucks, in this case.
Just minutes after pre-orders (yes, pre-orders) went live for the Mario Oreos, scalpers immediately started flogging them on eBay. The bloody things haven't even launched yet, and you can already find them being auctioned off online for ridiculous prices, with one ambitious seller listing their order for $75.

As you can see on eBay right now, most listings range from around $20 to $50. This is pretty outrageous, considering the original product will set you back just $5, but these are somehow not the worst prices we're seeing online. Nope, someone is selling three packs for $75 each.
Better yet, the version they're trying to sell seems to come from an older collab in 2020 - meaning the cookies have already expired. Hopefully, no one who actually plans on eating the cookies will get caught out here, because that would be real nasty. Or not. I've personally never tried an expired Oreo, so I don't know what kind of effect it has on a person.
Every time we hit refresh, there's a new rip-off listing. One of the most expensive options that are actually for this new run of Oreos, not the old, is going for $59.95. That's a 1099 percent increase while doing essentially nothing - an easy way to make money if anyone's really that desperate for the Mario snacks. And honestly, I really hope they're not.
